Impulse Martial Arts was founded in 2018. Our dojo is conveniently located in the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Lehigh Valley area. The martial arts offered are Aikido, Kempo-Karate, Iai-Jutsu and Ken-Jutsu (Samurai Sword Arts), Japanese Ju-Jutsu, and Self-Defense Combatives. We study and practice these martial arts with both traditional and modern approaches. We also host seminars and events regularly throughout the year with our extremely skilled Guest Instructors.
The traditional, cultural aspects of these arts as they were utilized and trained in Japan, are acknowledged and applied to understand the arts origin and history. As with everything else, martial arts evolve and become modernized. Our modern approach focuses on practical applications of existing principles as they pertain to dealing with newer or evolved fighting styles, weaponry, tactics, or techniques. As the world evolves it’s many fighting styles, we must also evolve and adapt in order to learn defenses against them.
The variety of martial arts we practice emphasize practical self-defense, joint-lock and control techniques, grappling, blocking and striking, ground-fighting, real-world scenarios, multiple attackers, weapons defense, weapons use and weapons retaining tactics. Other focus points include strength and conditioning, power and ki (energy) development, meditation, speed and accuracy.
