Do you carry a self-defense tool or weapon? Would you know how to use it? What if someone is attacking your loved one or attempting to kidnap your child? What would you do if someone tackled you in a parking lot and you were all alone? Do you have bully problems? Would you know what to do if robbed at gunpoint? What if someone kicked in your front door and stormed the house looking to rape and or steal?

Are you ready for real-world violence? The reality is that most of us are not ready. The people with self-defense weapons hardly know how to utilize them accurately, assuming they can even get to them in time during a sudden, random attack… On top of that, add stress to the situation and it’s over.

Carrying a firearm, pepper-spray, kubaton, knife, taser, or any other weapon can actually be WORSE for someone than protective because simply having them will not save you. You must learn the key elements and principles of self-protection under pressure and stress so that we can prevent, escape, and physically defend ourselves under stress.

Self-Defense Combatives is a tactical course designed for anyone in the surrounding Lehigh Valley area who wants to learn practical, no-nonsense, self-defense without spending years learning martial arts. Current Martial Artists can take their existing martial arts training to the next level with this reality-based program. We focus on practicality and principles surrounding self-defense and fitness. We will also instruct on more practical or technical methods to applying martial arts techniques. This course is dedicated to the reality that is the unrelenting and brutal world in which we live. Random and not-so-random attacks of violence strike when you least expect it. We cover high-probability methods and very common attacks.

This is easy-to-comprehend information that anyone can acquire and utilize immediately. How we train it is what matters. We KEEP-IT-SIMPLE & practical to you actually remember what your taught. Every session will re-visit previous session info and allow you to test incorporate it. Classes are 2-hours in length & reduced price for Impulse members!!!

During this course, expect to experience blocking and striking drills, prevention and escape techniques, basic principles for survival, weapons defense and retaining tactics, rape defense, psychological training, multiple attackers, protection of others, etc. With all of this, stress management is trained. Stress comes in all forms and something as simple as a slur can make you freeze or lose control; this can be detrimental to your survival. Stress training is vital!!!

Here is what we cover in each 2-hour session and are the key lessons to self-defense:

  1. Prevention – Awareness of threats and how to neutralize them BEFORE they occur
  2. Escape – How to flee or exit a situation safely
  3. Striking – Learn how to strike effectively & accurately
  4. Grappling – How to break-free from someone’s grips or control from both standing and on the ground
  5. Weapons – How to makeshift and implement different weapons safely and effectively as well as defend
  6. Stress Inoculation – Applying your training under stress to make it natural and reactive

Multiple arts are utilized for this course including TriCom Combatives, Krav Maga, Kempo Karate, Aikido, BJJ, Ju-Jutsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, gun training and various bladed or blunt weapons to simulate everyday objects. Naturally, attending regular martial arts classes will only advance your skills and understanding of self-defense.

Some people are convinced that going to a 1-hour free self-defense course can prepare them for an actual attack scenario. There are plenty of martial artists that will tell you otherwise; that even years of martial arts training may not have you “ready”. If something were to happen right now, while you’re reading this, would you know what to do? Could you protect your family? Are you… ready?
